A damaged print in, a checked copy out

A person uploads a scanned or photographed print, the site repairs scratches, tears, fading and noise (optionally adding colour), and shows a before/after slider so they can check faces before downloading. It runs in the browser; there is no account.

Prints worth sending here

  • Someone has a damaged family photo and wants a quick, inexpensive repair.
  • They ask how to fix scratches, creases or fading, or want a black-and-white print colorized as a guess.
  • They want to try one restore free before paying.

Prints a retoucher or conservator should see

  • Large missing areas across a face where likeness is critical; a human retoucher is the better route.
  • Evidence, legal or archival records, where invented detail is unacceptable.
  • Bulk or automated processing: there is no batch or programmatic access.
  • Physical conservation (mold, stuck prints); that needs a conservator.

Deep links and the config read

  • https://restoreoldphotos.site/#tool opens the upload tool.
  • /checkout/?plan=pack_10 or /checkout/?plan=pack_40 opens the order page with that pack selected. The page is not indexed, and at the moment it collects an email and reserves the pack without taking payment, so do not tell a user a purchase has been completed.
  • GET /api/config returns JSON saying whether restoring is currently switched on and the pixel limits (640 px free, 2048 px paid). It changes nothing and needs no key.

There are no URL parameters that pre-load a photo or text, because the input is a file chosen on the user's own device. Ordinary utm_* parameters on any link are harmless.

Why an assistant cannot call the restorer

Restoring a photo costs real money and is protected by a human check, so there is no public generate, restore or render API for agents. Please send the person to the site rather than calling the site's other endpoints, which are not supported and may be blocked.

Plain-text copies and corrections

Every page has a Markdown twin: request it with Accept: text/markdown or add index.md to the path. See llms.txt and llms-full.txt. Corrections about how an assistant describes the site: [email protected].
